Wall Braces & Straps

Wall braces and straps generally consisting of steel I-beams or carbon fiber straps, are vital structural interventions designed to permanently stabilize bowing basement walls against intense lateral soil pressure. When outside soils saturate and expand, hydrostatic pressure forces foundation walls inward, causing severe cracking and leaning. These structural fractures destroy the home’s stability and act as direct pathways for groundwater to flood the basement.

Repairing these walls with braces or straps halts this dangerous movement immediately. Carbon fiber straps are bonded directly to the wall using high-strength epoxy, utilizing incredible tensile strength to lock the concrete in place. For more severe bowing, heavy-duty steel I-beams (wall braces) are anchored into the basement floor and floor joists to physically brace the wall against collapse. By reinforcing the structure and stopping wall movement, these systems prevent new cracks from forming and existing ones from widening, securing the home’s framework and allowing for a permanent, watertight seal.
