Carbon Fiber Wall Straps

Carbon fiber straps are a passive wall reinforcement system used to stabilize bowing and deflecting block foundation walls. Over time, lateral soil pressure can cause foundation walls to crack and move inward. Carbon fiber straps help reinforce weakened sections of the wall and resist further movement, but they are not designed to straighten the wall or move it back into its original position.

At Foundation Restoration, carbon fiber straps are typically installed alongside active force resistance systems such as wall anchors or Sampson Braces (steel I-beams). While the anchors or braces provide the primary structural support needed to counteract soil pressure, carbon fiber straps add supplemental reinforcement between these systems, helping distribute loads and strengthen the wall.

Carbon fiber straps are often used when site conditions limit the installation of traditional active repair methods or when additional reinforcement is needed as part of a comprehensive stabilization plan.

Installed with high-strength structural epoxy, the straps create a permanent bond to the foundation wall while maintaining a low-profile appearance. When professionally installed, carbon fiber straps provide long-term reinforcement that helps prevent further inward movement and enhances the overall stability of the foundation wall.
