Exterior Membrane - Foundation Restoration
Our Solutions

Exterior Membrane

Exterior waterproofing membranes are generally made of thick liquid rubber (or sometimes heavy-duty polymer sheets), and these serve as the premier defense against foundation failure, stopping water before it ever touches the structure. When outside soils saturate, hydrostatic pressure forces groundwater against porous concrete walls. Without a barrier, water seeps through, weakening the concrete, causing structural cracking, and flooding the basement.

An exterior membrane solves this by creating an impermeable, seamless wrapper around the foundation’s outside perimeter. Applied directly to the excavated foundation walls, it blocks water from entering the concrete sponge entirely. By keeping the structure bone-dry, the membrane prevents the freeze-thaw cycles and moisture degradation that cause walls to bow, crack, and shift. When paired with exterior drainage boards, it safely redirects water away from the home. This comprehensive protection prevents soil-pressure damage, secures the home’s structural integrity, and delivers a permanently dry basement
